Why School Staffing Holds Up in Any Economy

Required by Law. Publicly Funded.

These services aren't optional extras that disappear when budgets tighten. The law requires them, and public education budgets pay for them.

Required by Law

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) entitles every student with an IEP to the special education and related services written into it — speech, OT, PT, psychology, counseling, interpreting, school nursing and more.

Publicly Funded

Federal IDEA Part B grants, state and local special education funds, and school-based Medicaid for eligible services pay for the work — every year, in every district.

Every School Year

IEPs are reviewed every year and students are re-evaluated at least every three years, so the caseloads come back each fall — and so does the need to staff them.

Where We Staff

School Staffing by State

Credentials and local structures differ by state. Start with yours — teletherapy providers are licensed where your students are.

Based in Atlanta, Georgia. We staff contract and teletherapy roles nationwide.

Common Questions

What Districts Ask Us

Which school roles do you staff?
Twenty-three: speech-language pathologists and clinical fellows, occupational and physical therapists, educational audiologists, sign language interpreters, teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing, teachers of the visually impaired, orientation and mobility specialists, school nurses, school psychologists, educational diagnosticians, BCBAs, RBTs and ABA therapists, school counselors, school social workers, mental health therapists, special education teachers, paraprofessionals, reading specialists, adaptive PE teachers and classroom teachers.
Why does a fully staffed school matter for IDEA compliance?
Under IDEA, every student with an IEP is owed the special education and related services written into it, on the schedule written into it. When a position sits empty, minutes are missed, evaluations slip past their timelines, and districts can owe make-up (compensatory) services or face state complaints. Filling the seat quickly — on contract or by teletherapy — keeps services on schedule.
Who pays for these services?
Public funds. Federal IDEA Part B grants flow through your state alongside state and local special education funding, and many districts recover part of the cost through school-based Medicaid for eligible students and services.
Can services be delivered by teletherapy?
Many can. Speech therapy, counseling, school psychology, behavior consultation, vision and hearing services and some instruction work by live video, with a provider licensed in your state and an onsite helper when students need one. PT, nursing, RBTs, orientation and mobility and paraprofessionals are onsite. Your IEP team decides what fits each student.
How does the QR code work?
Scan it with your phone camera. It opens our match page, where you paste or pick your job description and see the best-matched candidate we're representing right now — blinded, with no name or employer — and the video intro we invite every candidate to film. Ask for the introduction from there.
How fast can you send candidates?
We send a blinded shortlist of screened candidates within 48 to 72 hours of your request — credentials checked and your screening questions answered.
How does contract staffing work?
Your clinician or teacher works on MedPoint's payroll for the school year, the semester or a set number of weeks. We handle weekly payroll, taxes and workers' comp, and you get one invoice at the agreed rate. If you want to keep them, contract-to-hire and direct hire are available.
