How Teletherapy Works

The Services Happen. The Provider Is on Screen.

A licensed provider works with your students live by video, on contract for the school year or semester. An adult in the room helps the students who need it. IEP minutes are delivered and logged like any other session.

Teletherapy fills the roles rural and hard-to-staff districts wait longest for — and it's how one specialist can serve students spread across many campuses.

Getting Started

From Job Order to First Session

1

Plan the Caseload

We review students, minutes and schedules with your team.

2

Set Up the Room

Camera, headset, internet — and an onsite helper where students need one.

3

Sessions Start

Live sessions on your bell schedule, with minutes logged from day one.

4

Review & Adjust

Regular check-ins with your team. Students who need in-person time get it.

When Onsite Is the Better Call

Some services need a person in the room

Physical therapy, school nursing, RBT and paraprofessional support, orientation and mobility and adaptive PE are hands-on, so we staff them onsite. Very young students and students with significant needs often do better in person too. Your IEP team decides — we staff both.

Big Metro or Small and Rural

Every District Size, One Call

A big district needs volume. A small rural one needs someone who will come — or connect by video. We staff both.

Small & Rural Districts

  • Teletherapy when no SLP or psychologist lives within driving distance
  • One itinerant clinician for all your campuses — or shared with neighboring districts through your cooperative or regional service agency
  • Low-incidence roles a few hours a week: TVI, O&M, deaf and hard of hearing, interpreting, audiology
  • Part-time contracts sized to a small caseload
  • One point of contact for every role — no juggling five agencies
See teletherapy roles →

Metro & Suburban Districts

  • Several SLPs at once for the start of the school year
  • Bilingual SLPs, psychologists and interpreters for the languages your students speak
  • Evaluation backlogs cleared on a deadline
  • Fast replacements for leaves and mid-year resignations
  • One point of contact and one invoice across every campus

Common Questions

What Districts Ask Us

Does a teletherapy provider need a license in our state?
Yes. Providers must hold the license or credential your state requires for students located there. We check it before we propose anyone.
What do we need on our side?
A quiet room or corner, a computer with a camera and headset, reliable internet — and for young students or students with significant needs, an adult nearby who can help, often a para or classroom aide.
Can services be delivered by teletherapy?
Many can. Speech therapy, counseling, school psychology, behavior consultation, vision and hearing services and some instruction work by live video, with a provider licensed in your state and an onsite helper when students need one. PT, nursing, RBTs, orientation and mobility and paraprofessionals are onsite. Your IEP team decides what fits each student.
Why does a fully staffed school matter for IDEA compliance?
Under IDEA, every student with an IEP is owed the special education and related services written into it, on the schedule written into it. When a position sits empty, minutes are missed, evaluations slip past their timelines, and districts can owe make-up (compensatory) services or face state complaints. Filling the seat quickly — on contract or by teletherapy — keeps services on schedule.
How fast can you send candidates?
We send a blinded shortlist of screened candidates within 48 to 72 hours of your request — credentials checked and your screening questions answered.
